My Portfolio

Irish mezzo-soprano Gina Oberoi-Engela is recognised for her dramatic intelligence, vocal warmth, and emotionally grounded performances across opera, oratorio, and contemporary concert repertoire.

 

Her work spans Baroque masters such as Bach and Handel through to twentieth and twenty-first century compositions, including a recent performance of Malach The Angel Messenger by Eímear Noone, inspired by the video game World of Warcraft.

Her performances have been broadcast on RTÉ Lyric FM, and she has appeared internationally in Ireland, Germany, Italy, Romania, Japan, and the Czech Republic.

She holds a first class honours degree in Music and a Master’s degree in Music.

She has appeared regularly with Limerick Opera Festival and Cork Opera, including company membership in 2019, and has performed with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra.

A highly experienced oratorio soloist, Gina’s repertoire includes:

  • Duruflé – Requiem

  • Vivaldi – Gloria

  • Karl Jenkins – The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace

  • Irish premiere of Dan Forrest – Jubilee Overture

Recital & Contemporary Performance

An active recitalist and advocate for contemporary music, Gina performs repertoire ranging from Mahler’s Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen to newly commissioned works written specifically for her voice. She maintains an ongoing collaboration with composer Martin O’Leary.

 

Notable appearances include the Irish Embassy Centenary Concert in Bucharest and major national choral anniversary events.
